27-29 Bank St

New London, CT  2018

There appears to be some new life in downtown New London these days. There's scaffolding and huge trash bins in front of one of the historic buildings which has fallen into disrepair over the years.  I was able to peak between the scaffold supports to see this facade, long hidden from view.  I'm not sure what that plans are, but it would be great to see these grand old buildings restored and brought to life once again.

Tunnel

Niantic, CT  2018

I think there should be a photo here, but I don't think I've found it yet.

Scarecrow

Essex, CT  2018

A little out of season, I think, but he was 1/2 off.

Essex Olive Oil

Essex, CT  2018

Has anyone else noticed the sudden rise in popularity of olive oil, especially the "artisanal" or "craft" types of olive oil?  There seem to be dedicated shops to olive oil popping up all over.  They must really like olive oil in Essex, since this shop is one of two within one block of each other in Essex.

Essex Savings

Essex, CT  2018

It's nice to see a local bank still in business after all these years.  Many have been swallowed up by the big banking companies.

Bay Markers

Niantic, CT  2018

I'm not exactly sure what is being marked by these sign posts in the middle of the Niantic River.  It could be a channel.  I thought the colors stood out in contrast to the rest of the scene on this dreary morning.

Chicago O'Hare International Airport

Chicago, Il  2018

It has been a few years since I've flown into or out of O'Hare.  The terminals are looking a bit dated compared to other airports I've seen recently.

Winter in California

Costa Mesa, CA  2018

This is about the closest thing I could find to winter in southern California.  Even though the temperatures are warm year round, some trees do drop their leaves.

Looking Out

Costa Mesa, CA  2018

I recently attended the Barbershop Harmony Society Midwinter Convention in Costa Mesa, CA.  This was taken between performances in the lobby area of the Reneé and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall

Matterhorn and Neptune

Disneyland, CA 2018

One of the most iconic scenes at Disneyland, still pretty remarkable after over 50 years

Badlands

Disneyland, CA  2018

If it weren't for the construction cranes in the background one might easily think this a trip through the western badlands.  I think the cranes are being used to construct the latest Disneyland attraction set to open in 2020... Star Wars World.
